A pan-Indian scam that used fake eCommerce websites to cheat people out of INR 60 lakh is said to have been busted by the Delhi Police.

The Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations (IFSO) wing of the Delhi Police, according to IANS, busted the scam during an operation. Two people, Ravi Arora and Dinesh Sharma were captured in connection with the case following raids in Himachal Pradesh and Delhi. According to KPS Malhotra, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for the Cyber Cell, the operation was started in response to a complaint alleging fraud by one of these fake portals. On one of these websites, the complainant made an online air conditioner (AC) purchase and paid INR 28,472 with a digital wallet.

He tried to get in touch with the seller when the air conditioner failed to show up but was unable to reach him.
