Indians accounted for 5% of global mobile app downloads

The number of mobile apps downloaded by Indians has significantly increased as a result of the country’s growing smartphone usage. Data.ai, formerly known as App Annie, an analytics company, reported that Indian users downloaded over 28 billion applications on mobile phones in 2022, making up 5% of the 625 billion downloads worldwide.

India came in second place after China in terms of total app downloads for the year, the research said. India has been ranked seventh on the global list of mobile phone usage, with an average daily usage per consumer of 4.9 hours. India, Australia, and Mexico tied for sixth place in terms of daily usage average, behind South Korea, Indonesia, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Indonesia, all of which had usage averages of five hours or more. India will have more than 1.3 billion internet users by 2030, with Indians spending an average of 4.7 hours a day on mobile, predicts Inc42’s “Indian Tech Startup Funding Report 2022.”
