The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) claims that a cloud kitchen can supply its goods to numerous brands. The FSSAI’s remarks come after a Substack user revealed that someone is suspected of operating hundreds of phoney brands on Swiggy and Zomato.
The cloud kitchen can supply its products to “innumerable brands” as long as they adhere to the regulations, according to the food safety regulator. A user of Substack by the name of Pea Bee, or Prashant Baid, said last week that a single person was managing 200 brands on Zomato and Swiggy from two locations in Bengaluru.
India’s cloud kitchen market is anticipated to reach $2.5 billion by FY28 and increase at a CAGR of 15.5% to 17.5% between 2024 and 2028, according to a TechSci Research analysis. Several of the leading players in the cloud kitchen sector are Rebel Foods, Curefoods, and Biryani By Kilo.
