Shopping app Temu using TikTok’s strategy to keep it’s no. 1 spot on App store

For a long period, Temu, a shopping app from Chinese e-commerce behemoth Pinduoduo, ranked first in the U.S. app stores. The mobile shopping app first led the American Software Store charts in September, and it has maintained a strong position ever since. As of December 29, 2022, it is also the best-rated free app on Google Play.

On January 3, Temu most recently reclaimed the top position on the iOS App Store, and it hasn’t changed since. Temu encourages users to refer friends in exchange for free goods and gives them access to a wide selection of products, including fast fashion, which may contribute to some of its growth. Temu sells factory-direct products at reasonable prices. The majority of Temu’s new instalments, it would seem, come from marketing expenses.
