Private equity firm KKR to invest $300 million for a 13.33% stake in Advanta Enterprises

A subsidiary of the international provider of agriculture solutions UPL, Advanta Enterprises, will receive $300 million from private equity company KKR for a 13.33% share in the company. After the sale, the seed company Advanta will function as a stand-alone platform with the objective of dominating the worldwide seed sustainability market. The investment comes at a time when structural obstacles to food production are being created by geopolitical instability, population growth, dwindling arable land, diminishing productivity, and climate change. Advanta concentrates on sustainable agriculture by offering farmers high-quality, regionally tailored hybrid seeds. In 84 nations in Asia, Australia, Europe, the United States, Latin America, and Africa, it conducts business.
