Indian regional languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu are now available on Zomato’s mobile app, according to the foodtech startup.
Through regional language versions of its app, Zomato currently delivers over 150K orders per month. While the other languages are fast expanding, according to Zomato, Hindi and Tamil account for 54% and 11% of these orders, respectively. The value of Zomato’s meal delivery business in the first half of FY23 was $1.6 billion. Despite giving substantial discounts, Zomato is overtaking Swiggy in terms of market share, according to equities research firm Jefferies.
