Reliance-owned Viacom18 has also obtained the consolidated media rights to the women’s version of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for INR 951 Cr for the 2023–27 season, following its record-breaking acquisition of the digital media rights to the men’s version of the IPL for a staggering INR 20,500 Cr. For the women’s IPL, the owner of Voot offered INR 7.09 Cr for each game. The men’s IPL, in contrast, obtained a combined bid of INR 48,390 Cr for both digital and TV rights combined for the period, translating to a per-match price of INR 114 Cr, which is 16X more expensive than the women’s version. According to ESPNcricinfo, the INR 7.09 Cr per match value was computed on the assumption that the first three seasons will consist of 22 matches, followed by two seasons each consisting of 34 matches.
