About 115 employees of the SaaS speech automation business Skit.ai were laid off on Thursday (January 12). Inc42 estimates that there may be as many as 130.
Sourabh Gupta, the co-founder and CEO of Skit.ai, made the announcement of the layoffs at a town hall meeting. The startup employs 335 employees, according to its Linkedin page. The sources claim that positions including business analyst, software engineering, product, operations, SPM, and CSM will be impacted by the layoffs. They claim that because the business is now concentrating on the US market, the majority of the laid-off workers are from the India team. According to two sacked employees who spoke to Inc42, the layoffs were sudden and unexpected.
