According to a recent study by analytics company Data.ai, formerly known as App Annie, several Indian apps, including MX Player, Zomato, Swiggy, Flipkart, Meesho, and PhonePe, were among the most downloaded apps worldwide in 2022.
The Times Internet-owned video-streaming platform MX Player ranked third among all video-streaming apps in the world, according to Data.ai’s “State of Mobile 2023” report. MX Player came in third place in the global market for video streaming in 2022, behind only Netflix and YouTube. Furthermore, MX Player was the most downloaded video streaming app in India, surpassing JioTV, JioCinema, Voot, Sony LIV, and other services. At the same time, the app surpassed 1 billion downloads to become the fifth most downloaded entertainment app in the last decade.
