Zomato, a leader in foodtech, has stopped new registrations and membership renewals for its rewards programme Zomato Pro. Zomato made the shift after changing its business model a number of times in order to expand and achieve profitability.
After shuttering Zomato Pro’s premium iteration, Zomato Pro Plus, in May of this year, the startup is now shuttering Zomato Pro after two years of operation. The company’s first customer reward programme, Zomato Gold, was renamed Zomato Pro in 2020. “While we work on a new, better experience for you”, Zomato wrote in a statement to current Pro users and those wanting to sign up that the services are not accessible for renewal.
