Biotech startup Eyestem secured $6.4 million in its Series A led by Biological E. Ltd and others

Eyestem, a biotech startup, raised $6.4 million in Series A funding led by Biological E. Ltd, Alkem, NATCO, Anurag Bagaria and Karan Bagaria from Kemwell Biopharma, with participation from current investors Endiya Partners and Kotak Private Equity. The money will be used by Eyestem to carry out preliminary clinical tests on its patented product and advance the development of its cell therapy platform. The mission of Eyestem is to democratise global access to innovative technologies while developing a cell therapy platform to treat terminal illnesses. In addition, Eyestem claimed that it had secured funding from the Department of Biotechnology and had established scientific innovation associations in India, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
