A new feature named “voice status updates” is apparently being rolled out by WhatsApp and is currently available for testing in the Android beta. The new functionality will allow users to share audio notes via status updates.
With the new feature, beta testers will be able to post voice notes as status updates. According to WABetaInfo, this might be done by utilising the brand-new feature located in the text status section. The platform will provide users more control over voice recordings by enabling them to delete a recording before sharing it. The maximum recording time for a voice note is 30 seconds, and users must update their WhatsApp version in order to hear voice notes transmitted via status. Only the individuals users choose in their privacy settings will be able to hear voice notes that are shared as status updates thanks to end-to-end encryption.
