Through a combination of primary and secondary transactions, Razorpay acquired the majority share in Ezetap Mobile Solutions.
The fintech startup handled card payments for large corporations and organisations via mobile devices. The company provided services to more than 300 big and small companies, including Amazon, Bharti Airtel, Reliance, Indian Oil, Bigbasket, and Urban Ladder. Ezetap’s CEO, Byas Nambisan, said his company is in talks with a variety of investors, including renowned venture capital firms, local and international strategics, and angel investors, to raise $60 million (Rs 447 crore). He continued by claiming that Unitus Capital had been hired to look into prospective buyers, but he would not specify who they were.
