Following the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights’ (NCPCR) summons of edtech giant BYJU’s cofounder and CEO Byju Raveendran over allegations of malpractices, the commission’s chairperson, Priyank Kanoongo, declared that the top child rights body would seek “accountability” from the edtech decacorn.
On December 17 (Saturday), the NCPCR issued a summons to Raveendran, giving him until 2 p.m. on December 23 (Friday), to appear before the commission and address the charges brought against the edtech decacorn. The NCPCR has instructed Raveendran to furnish details regarding the courses provided by BYJUs, including information regarding their structure, fee information, refund policy, total enrollment, and other relevant papers.
