Facebook’s social media network’s parent company, Meta, will stop offering its Live Shopping feature in order to concentrate on Reels, a platform for short-form video content that is available on both Facebook and Instagram.
Beginning October 1, 2022, “you won’t be allowed to host any new or scheduled live shopping events on Facebook,” according to Facebook’s business support page. “As consumers’ viewing habits shift to short-form video, we’re focusing on Reels on Facebook and Instagram, Meta.” Users won’t be able to tag things, but they can still stream live events.
