Instant live tutoring startup Filo raised $23 million in funds led by Anthos Capital where existing financial backer Better Capital alongside GSV, Sapling Capital, and a large group of notable individual investors including Gokul Rajaram, Rob Frohwein (co-founder of Kabbage), Mate Pencz, and Florian Hagenbuch (founders, Loft) and Ross Lipson (co-founder, Dutchie)also partook.
Filo is a self-study application that interfaces understudies in grades sixth through twelfth with master coaches in 60 seconds through audio or video call. Filo helps understudies in explaining ideas, tackling issues, sharing notes, planning for the board and cutthroat assessments, and getting schoolwork help. The edtech startup expects to involve the new funds for product improvement, group development, venturing into new business sectors and growing its coach base the nation over. Filo claims 1.5 million downloads and 350,000 monthly active clients. Throughout the following year, the platform means to locally available over 200,000 mentors across India and hold 2 million live classes each day.
