Healthtech startup MediBuddy laid off around 200 employees

Around 200 employees of the healthtech business MediBuddy were laid off earlier this week as part of a restructuring exercise.

Although staff from all departments were impacted by the abrupt layoffs, the tech, product, sales, and operations teams were hit the hardest, according to the sources. Over 2,400 people worked with MediBuddy overall prior to the restructuring. According to the startup, out-placement services would help impacted employees find potential employment opportunities. Additionally, it has created a care package that extends the impacted employees’ health insurance and provides MediBuddy wallet continuity for their wellbeing. Over 20,000 workers have been let go by Indian startups in the past year or so.
