Delhi government released a draft policy to launch premium app-based bus aggregator services

A draft policy paper for the Delhi Motor Vehicles Licensing of Aggregators Scheme 2022, which aims to offer upscale app-based bus aggregator services for intercity travel, was released by the Delhi government. As part of the plan, the state government would introduce premium bus aggregator services in the National Capital Region (NCR) via websites and mobile apps . It will allow private operators to run air-conditioned electric and compressed natural gas buses in the area and privatise intercity bus transit. The scheme’s objective, according to the draught paper, is to promote effective premium bus services in order to stimulate a modal shift in public transportation. The state government also plans to lessen traffic congestion, enhance urban transportation, maximise the use of available transportation resources, and enhance air quality in the NCR.
