This week, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) will hold a closed-door hearing to discuss allegations regarding Google’s contentious Play Store developer payment policy.
Business Standard reports that the matter would likely be heard by the three-person CCI panel later this week. The panel’s chairman is Ashok Kumar Gupta. Delivery of the complete order is anticipated for September. Any app selling digital products and services must use the Play Store’s billing system and pay a 30% fee on in-app transactions, according to a 2020 announcement from the tech giant.
