Blue and gray-collar job portal WorkIndia raised $12 million in a Pre-Series B round from Tokyo-based SBI Holdings, the Nintendo founding family’s Yamauchi No. 10 Family Office, Persol, and Insitor.
WorkIndia plans to use the additional funding to develop its data science and product capabilities as well as to expand into the Southeast Asian blue-collar job market. WorkIndia is a job search engine that covers all blue and grey collar jobs. The startup has openings in 50 various fields, such as delivery partners, field sales executives, and telemarketing. According to WorkIndia, approximately 29 million Indians have been employed. The startup helps 100K Indians each month by helping them find employment that matches their skill set. It serves 772 cities throughout 28 states and 8 union territories. Over 1.5 million small and medium-sized businesses and countless large enterprises use the platform to find employees.
