Apple, a US-based technology company, plans to start manufacturing the iPhone 14 in India. It has been collaborating with Indian vendors to boost iPhone 14 production and cut the existing six to nine-month production cycle.
Bloomberg reports that due to ongoing geopolitical tensions between the US and China as well as the Chinese government enforcing a statewide lockdown that is stopping commercial activities, Apple is moving the manufacture of the iPhone 14 out of China. At the moment, Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron factories in India are where Apple is manufacturing the iPhone 13. Additionally, it established a goal earlier this year to produce iPhones worth INR 47,000 crore in India for the fiscal year 2022–2023.
